This Copyright & DMCA Policy explains how Zippgun handles copyright ownership, user-submitted content, copyright complaints, takedown notices, counter-notices, and repeat infringement concerns.

1. Respect for Copyright
Zippgun respects intellectual property rights.
Users may not submit, upload, link, publish, transmit, or otherwise provide content unless they have the necessary rights, permissions, licenses, or authority to do so.
2. Artist Ownership
Artists retain ownership of their music, lyrics, recordings, compositions, artwork, branding, creative concepts, and other submitted creative works.
Submitting content to Zippgun does not transfer ownership to Zippgun.
Zippgun uses submitted content only as reasonably necessary to provide requested services, operate the platform, process review submissions, publish requested editorial content, or otherwise fulfill platform workflows.
3. User Responsibility
By submitting content to Zippgun, you represent that:
- You own the content or have permission to submit it.
- Your submission does not infringe another person's rights.
- You have the authority to authorize Zippgun to use the content for the requested service.
- Any collaborators, rights holders, labels, publishers, producers, photographers, designers, or other relevant parties have granted any permissions required for your submission.
You are responsible for resolving disputes related to your submitted materials.
4. Zippgun Editorial Content
Zippgun may create editorial reviews, articles, commentary, summaries, promotional copy, website copy, and other platform content.
Unless otherwise stated, Zippgun owns or controls the editorial content it creates.
Artists may share published Zippgun reviews for promotional purposes, provided the content is not altered in a misleading way and attribution to Zippgun is preserved.
5. Review Submissions
If you submit music for editorial review, you understand that certain submitted or linked materials may become publicly visible if a review is published, including:
- Artist or project name.
- Release title.
- Public streaming links.
- Artwork or press images.
- Editorial commentary.
Do not submit materials for review if you are not authorized to make them available for editorial processing and potential publication.
6. Feedback Submissions
Feedback submissions are treated differently from review submissions.
Feedback materials are shared only as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, including with assigned Feedback Contributors and Zippgun administrators.
Feedback submissions are not automatically published.
7. DMCA Notices
If you believe that content on Zippgun infringes your copyright, you may send a takedown notice containing the following information:
- Your full legal name.
- Your contact information.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, including the URL or location on Zippgun.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.

Before publication, Zippgun should confirm the appropriate designated contact and whether a formal DMCA agent registration is required.
8. Response to Notices
Upon receiving a proper copyright complaint, Zippgun may:
- Remove or disable access to the challenged material.
- Contact the user who submitted the material.
- Request additional information.
- Decline incomplete or invalid notices.
- Take other reasonable action consistent with applicable law.
9. Counter-Notices
If your content was removed because of a copyright complaint and you believe the removal was mistaken, you may submit a counter-notice.
A counter-notice should include:
- Your full legal name.
- Your contact information.
- Identification of the removed material and its prior location.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Zippgun may forward counter-notices to the original complainant where required or appropriate.
10. Repeat Infringement
Zippgun may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly submit infringing content or repeatedly violate copyright-related platform rules.
11. False or Misleading Claims
Submitting false copyright claims or false counter-notices may have legal consequences.
Only submit a notice or counter-notice if you have a good-faith basis to do so.
12. Trademark and Other Rights
Although this policy focuses on copyright, Zippgun may also review complaints involving trademarks, publicity rights, impersonation, or other rights.
